Hangzhou is the capital and most populous city of Zhejiang Province in East China.It sits at the head of Hangzhou Bay, which separates Shanghai and Ningbo. Hangzhou's climate is humid subtropical with four distinctive seasons, characterised by long, very hot, humid summers and chilly, cloudy and drier winters (with occasional snow).

It was the capital of the Wu and Yue States in the 10th Century during the Five Dynasties Period, and had its political heyday in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), when it served as the capital of China. 50年代以后，杭州的区域范围经历了不断变化。先是将原有的八区改名为上城区、中城区、下城区、江干区、西湖区、艮山区、拱墅区、笕桥区；其后，艮山区并入下城区，笕桥区并入江干区，中城区大部分并入上城区，小部分并入下城区。 ，1958年4月杭县撤销作为杭州市郊区，1960年1月建立钱塘联社，1961年3月余杭县并入杭州钱塘联社，成立新的余杭县。
1990年初，半山区又与拱墅区合并，成立新的拱墅区。
1994年，杭州升格为副省级城市。
1996年12月12日，杭州市新设立滨江区。属县则有萧山、桐庐、余杭、临安、建德、富阳、淳安七个县（市）。
2001年3月12日，杭州市政府正式宣布，经国务院和浙江省人民政府批准，撤销萧山市和余杭市，同时设立萧山区和余杭区，与杭州市原6个区一起构成一个新杭州，调整后的杭州新市区由原来的6个区增加到8个区。

Guangzhou Baiyun Mountain Baiyun Mountain (known locally as White Clouds Mountain) is located in north of Guangzhou city. It is named “the most beautiful place in the “Sheep City” (the nick name of Guangzhou City is “Sheep City”)”， and it is also one of the first 4A Grade interest places in China. This mountain is clustered round by over 30 ridges， with an area of 28 square kilometers. The highest peak is Moxing Ridge， 382 meters above the sea.
